Today, another 25 dogs left our shelter to begin a new life in Germany and the Netherlands. This is an emotional moment for all of us, and a significant step toward a better life for these four-legged friends, many of whom have waited for years for a chance at happiness.
We are aware that opinions differ regarding international adoptions. However, at present, this is the only viable solution, as the number of local adoptions is extremely low.
By contrast, in countries like Germany and the Netherlands, the number of stray dogs has significantly decreased, thanks to public education on sterilization and responsible pet ownership. These countries are exemplary models, and we hope that one day Romania will also reach this level of awareness and responsibility.
Our dogs are not forgotten once they leave. Our international partners closely monitor their integration into their new families and provide us with regular updates. In this way, we remain close to each rescued soul – even from afar.
We wish them all the best of luck, a long and happy life, and for ourselves, the strength to continue this fight for a better world for all animals.
