Today we carried out another rescue operation that once again highlights the ongoing issue of stray dogs and the lack of consistent long-term solutions. For several months, a large male dog had been living in the Borș area, clearly in poor physical condition.
A local woman had repeatedly tried to secure him and bring him to safety, but without success. Although he was friendly and allowed people to approach and pet him, he could not be safely handled. His condition required urgent action: he showed clear signs of mange, had not been vaccinated, was not neutered, and was noticeably underweight.
Our priority was to capture him safely and stabilize his situation. He is now in a protected environment where he can finally rest and receive proper veterinary care. Treatment for mange will begin immediately, followed by vaccination and later neutering, an essential preventive measure.
His long-term future remains uncertain, depending on his recovery and the possibility of a responsible adoption. The people who fed him called him Bruno. Today, Bruno is no longer an overlooked stray, but a dog under care and protection.
