Rescuing dogs from Bacau Public Shelter

On the 30th of September 2014, F.P.C.C.'s director, Mr. Carol Lazar, in collaboration with Vier Pfoten and A.N.S.V.S.A., organised the rescue and relocation of the first batch of 100 dogs from cages in the Bacau Public Shelter.
After completing all formalities and checking the health of the dogs, our approved dog transporter and a second vehicle kindly loaned by CAT & DOG RESCUE ROMANIA, were loaded with 54 dogs ready to be transported to Bihor county and to be delivered to our open shelter.
Although most dogs in Bacau's partly open shelter are at the moment living happily and free - now properly fed after earlier in the year being neglected and starved - they lack dog houses, human company and veterinary care, and about 200 dogs were living in cages, which is cruel and unacceptable. We will rescue another 46 dogs from these cages in October with the help of UK volunteers Leley Turvey and Jane Sanderson. Thanks are due to Tierhilfe Grenzenlos e.v. in Germany for making us aware of the plight of the dog in Bacau and for liaising with Mr Gritcu of Bacau municipality.

The dogs all arrived in good condition, have been vaccinated against DHLPP and are now running free and happy on the land of our open shelter in Bihor, hoping to be adopted by animal loving owners in the near future.
Our saving action of the dogs from Bacau Public Shelter, like we specified before, was continued on the 8th of October 2014, when our director Mr. Lazar Carol, together with the two volunteers from U.K. and the team dedicated to the welfare of the animals, , which team helped us with the precedent transport of the dogs, made the necessary checking, prepared and loaded on the vehicles, the second transport of 52 dogs. The dogs arrived in Bihor county, to our open shelter, where they have proper life conditions and they enjoy the company of the other dogs from Bacau Public Shelter.
